About this listen
Uplifting and inspiring, leaving hope that it does get better.
Life After Losses is a memoir with a message. Author James LaVeck offers help for grieving while taking listeners on an intimate journey of love, loss, healing, recovery, and discovery.
After seven happy years with his first love, losing his husband sent him to his knees. He shares an honest and heartbreaking story of healing and ultimately falling in love again, only to face the unimaginable, devastating death after fifteen years of his second spouse.
This touching and raw narrative sets out one man’s moving story of his struggle to overcome the tragic label of double-widower by age 48. Combining poignant storytelling with practical advice, LaVeck unveils the true hurdles to the grueling grieving process…and the power of realization paired with coming out the other side.
Life After Losses: A Memoir of Self-Healing is an inspiring look into living after endings. If you appreciate tell-it-like-it-is honesty, reassuring guidance, and heart-wrenching journeys, then you’ll be moved by James LaVeck’s stirring account.

A Companion Book, Indeed.
My grieving is different from James’ situation yet this book intensified the reality of grieving and trying once again.
This book made me reflect on many life events and also made me think about the essence of how natural grieving is and that there is no linear journey in dealing with grief.
