Brilliant and very touching.
Thoroughly loved listening to Michael’s book. There were so many times I laughed out loud. The moments Michael shared about his childhood and his parents were very moving, Excellent audiobook.

I’m happy I stuck it out -
As much as Michael McIntyre has had me laughing over the years, there were moments in the book I wanted to turn it off. The introduction being one of those moments.
I’m happy I didn’t. I’m also happy I chose the audible version,
(Even if he is not).
His stories of failure, struggle, heartbreaks and his relentless fight to make his dreams reality were -mostly- engaging and he has a way of drawing one in.
I don’t know if he actually thinks this way or if he just thinks it’s funny - and I will leave it to other readers to make their own call but would be remiss if I left a review without mentioning my disappointment (to say it gently) by moments of blatant misogyny, body & appearance shaming, and comments about members of the lgbtq2s community. There were times it was so tiring I almost turned it off but put it on 2.5
Speed instead.
His delivery is perfect, heartfelt and funny and just what I hoped for.
In the second half of the book I found myself really looking forward to pressing play and in the last chapter I had a lump in my throat cheering for this self described funny, somewhat loveable loser.
