Well Researched and Well Rounded
This book was well researched and provided a holistic approach to health and wellness. Not only did the book talk about intermittent fasting, but it covered the negatives of popular fad diets. It also discussed other factors that impact your weight, such as sleep, activity, BMI, BMR and socio-economic impact - all of which are often overlooked in fad diets. Through the book, the author briefly touched on the Keto diet, laying out the pros and cons to see if it would suit your needs. This book was a perfect beginner guide to understand intermittent fasting, and I found it to be a much better lifestyle choice for me!
I have tried other fad diets, but this book helped me see why I was unsuccessful. As the book explained, you can get caught up in losing weight in an unsustainable manner, but if you reflect on your lifestyle and forming habits, you can make meaningful change. Further, the book was not pushy and stated you had to stick to a strict regime and instead advocated for listening to your needs adjusting your fasting schedule as needed!
The only downside for this book was I listened to it as an audiobook, and hearing all of the medical terms and acronyms was complicated. I think I would prefer to read it to look up the words and further research different themes. However, this was a minor thing and I thoroughly enjoyed learning and I would highly recommend reading this.
