About this listen
Actor Jim Beaver (Supernatural, Deadwood, Justified) and his wife Cecily Adams (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's Moogie) were at the peaks of their careers and happily raising a beautiful two-year old daughter, Madeline. Then tragedy struck, not once, but twice. What followed was laid down by Jim in a moving, poignant, and uplifting journal of the following year, a year filled with heartbreak as well as enormous gifts and invaluable lessons, not just for Jim and his family but for listeners who traveled along with him on his journey.

Loved it
It is funny but very sad, but I had to listen to the end. This man poured out his heart.

Well told story, by a true wordsmith.
I wish I had the ability to render my emotions in real life with the same beauty and as artfully as Jim. Finding strength, love, beauty and hope in his words.

Addictive
I am devastated to have finished this. I listened to Jim while gardening and each time I came inside, I was sad because I didn’t want to stop. I’ve now finished his book and I want to cry because I wish there was more. Listening to his voice and his story was meditative and almost like therapy. Amazing.
