Publisher's Summary

Wren

I always knew darkness crept through this city; like a shadow, it never really goes away, always watching, always waiting. People sin and people kill; it's a way of life. I just never expected to be thrown into the middle of a war I had no hope of surviving. Alexander Silver is as brutal as he is beautiful. A devil in disguise. The man destined to end me. I didn't go looking for trouble, and yet it found me, nonetheless. I could either join it or let it crush me.

Lex

Wren Valentine, my sweet Little Bird. I had no right dragging her into my world of violence and bloodshed, but I did it anyway. I am the king, sitting on a throne of chaos. She was supposed to be the enemy, the means to an end, but she became much more than that. In this life, you take what you want and strike down those who oppose you.

She is mine.

And I'll paint the streets red if anyone dares to take her.

Little Bird is book one in the Twisted City Duet. If you like dark, dirty, and suspenseful romance, this one's for you!

Warning! This is a dark romance and contains themes common in dark romances including, kidnap, violence, drug and alcohol use, sexual content, and strong language. It is not recommended for listeners under the age of 18. This book ends on a cliff-hanger.

Brilliant writing and brilliant performance!

Both Lucy Rivers and Joe Arden know how to really make you feel what they feel. Cliffhangers are the worst but this just means I’m eager to start book 2 ASAP!

Dark Romance/Enemies to Lovers

I don't know who needs to hear this...but listen to this book! Even if you've read the ebook or paperback, listen to this audio!! Always remember to check for triggers.

Lucy and Joe completely out did themselves with their performance and the way they were able to bring Ria's words to life! They conveyed the broad range of emotions felt by each character so flawlessly. You could feel their pain, pleasure, anger and so much more.

The world that Ria has created is dark and twisted...but you start to wonder if Wren can bring Lex out of the darkness and into the light...or if it's too late. Will they both be swallowed whole by the darkness?

And the cliffhanger....the cliffhanger.

Little Bird

A great listen with a dark Joe Arden and smoky Lucy Rivers. Intriguing story and of course a cliffhanger …

Enemies to lovers

Check for triggers before reading or listening to Little Bird. The story held my attention until the end. Joe and Lucy are perfect . I highly recommend.

Not really a duet style, I'd call this back and forth blabbering.

The book itself was good, predictable like most books in the plot. But I was extremely disappointed with Lucy's performance. I don't feel or hear the emotion in her voice, she doesn't speak the way I hear wren in my head. The tone/sound in her vocals are the exact same as most of her other audiobooks. It's difficult to concentrate and enjoy a book when it gets to a sexy part then she talks I'm turned off, no sexyness comveyed. It's hard to explain in text, and this is my personal opinion. Joe did another great job, there's something about the way he narrates that just seperates him from the rest. And to audiobooks, if it's a duet it should be back and forth like Bryanne Weavers Butcher and Blackbird. I don't want or need to hear Joe pretending to be a female or lucy pretending to be a male. It ruins the performance in my opinion. I would still recommend the book yo read first and if anyone wants to listen to the audiobook afterwards.
