About this listen
New York Times Best Seller
In this refreshing and inspiring memoir, Lauren Akins, the wife of country music star Thomas Rhett, shows what it's really like to be "the perfect couple" fans imagine, and reveals what it actually takes to live in love, stay in love, and grow together.
Named One of the Best Books of the Year by Parade
When country music star Thomas Rhett won the ACM Award for Single of the Year with "Die a Happy Man", his wife, Lauren Akins, was overjoyed. Her childhood best friend and now husband was being anointed the hottest new star in country music - for a song he had written about her. He was living his dream. Lauren was elated, but she was also wrestling with some big questions, not the least of which was, How can I live my own life of purpose?
Lauren Akins never wanted to be in the spotlight, but as Thomas Rhett made his relationship with Lauren the subject of many of his hit songs, she was tossed into the role of one of America's sweethearts. Revered by fans for her down-to-earth ease and charm, her commitment to humanitarian work, and the pure love she exudes for her family, Lauren has never shared her side of their story - full as it's been with deep love, painful loss, tremendous joy, and a struggle to stay grounded in faith along the way - until now.
In Live in Love, Lauren shares details about her childhood friendship with Thomas Rhett, explaining how they reconnected as young adults. She offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at the challenges of being married to her best friend, who just happens to be a music star, and the struggle to find her own footing in the frenzy of her husband's fame. And in heart-wrenching detail, she opens up about her life-changing experiences doing mission work in Haiti, and then in Uganda, where she met the precious baby who would become their first daughter. From sharing the romance of their handwritten wedding vows to the challenges they faced as they adjusted to the reality of becoming first-time parents, Live in Love takes an intimate look at one couple's life - and opens a window into all of our journeys on the path to self-discovery.
Live in Love is a deeply personal memoir that offers inspiring guidance for anyone looking to keep romance alive, balance children and marriage, express true faith, and live a life of purpose.

Such a refreshing read
I bought this book on a whim and before long I was totally invested in their story. I could not stop listening!! I finished this book in two days and enjoyed every minute. I laughed out loud, cried like a baby and even made my husband listen to sections. Lauren is so raw and real with her journey and I felt connected to their story through her words. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Wow! God is so good
I listened to this book within about 3 days between work and classes.
I loved Lauren's messages about love, marriage, being true to yourself and raising a family. The Akins seem to be doing such a great job at balancing everything life throws at them.
God is doing incredible things through this family.
I will definitely return to this book as the season's of life shift.

So beautiful and touching
Such a lovely, honest and raw story about what it’s like behind the scenes, having fame isn’t always glamorous and comes with struggles too.

Living In Love
Wow...what an incredible story. Refreshing, honest and humanizing. I always knew she was an incredible human but I have even more of a deeper respect for you Lauren. After a tough 2020 myself filled with a new medical diagnosis and a postponed wedding due to COVID, reading about some of the trials you’ve faced really helped me to give myself permission to feel my feelings. Thank you for sharing your story xo

I LOVED your story thanks for sharing!!
Your book was much more then I expected, it made me do some very much thinking into my own relationship with my husband and my nonexistent relationship with my my faith. This book made me laugh and cry. I appreciate how honest you both were and I thank you for that.

Such a fantastic read!
As a fan of Thomas Rhett and Lauren I was SO excited for this book. I could not wait to know exactly what Lauren would write about! I was NOT disappointed. Also SO MANY TEARS my heart was so full reading this. Not only is this book incredibly sweet, funny and interesting it was also EXTREMELY insightful. Knowing the story of their story from Lauren’s words and point of view was the best gift she could have ever given a fan. I have a whole new respect for them both, especially Lauren ! I think it’s so amazing that she was so raw, open and truthful. I really related to her and I learned so many things I plan to apply to my own life. Thank you for telling your story Lauren and Thomas Rhett. Honestly I thought you were perfect and I loved you and now that I know you are not perfect I love you even more !

So well written, I hope she writes a follow up to this.
Lauren is a beautiful and strong woman and I will never listen to her husbands songs the same way again.
Love them both.
