About this listen
Winner of the British Book Awards, Popular Non-Fiction Award, 2008.
Eighteen countries. Five shock absorbers. Two bikers. One amazing adventure.
After their fantastic trip round the world in 2004, fellow actors and bike fanatics Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman couldn't shake the travel bug. Inspired by their UNICEF visits to Africa, they knew they had to go back and experience this extraordinary continent in more depth.
Joining up once more with producer/directors Russ Malkin and David Alexanian and the Long Way Round team, and with two new BMWs loaded up for the trip, their route took them from John O'Groats at the northernmost tip of Scotland to Cape Agulhas on the southernmost tip of South Africa.
Riding though spectacular scenery, often in extreme temperatures, Ewan and Charley faced their hardest challenges yet. With their trademark humour and honesty, they tell their story: the drama, the dangers, and the sheer exhilaration of riding together again, though a continent filled with magic and wonder.

Beware this is abridged.
I love these shows and I thought the first book was very well done and added a whole other level of insight to the first series "Long Way Round" the second series (and Charley's Race to Dakar series) were equally as good but the second book is a let down. first off this audio book is a fraction of the book and I don't know if it's because of that abridgement but it reads like someone just watched the episodes and wrote in Ewan and Charley's voice exactly what we saw on the screen. no real deepr dive here like the first book have us. as much as it pains me to say... maybe skip this one. As for the narration the Person doing Charley's portion sounds more like Ewan (when he does Ewans voice) than the Scottish guy they have doing Ewans part.both are very good but they should have had the one guy read it it and just do both voices.
