Great historical fiction
This story explores emotional truth against a backdrop of 18th century warfare, high society and the dangers faced by men who dared to love other men. The story is entertaining but also thought-provoking in its confrontation of injustice.

Love the Outlander universe
I’m reading this series again in chronological order.. I’ve decided I actually like Lord John better than Jamie Frazer. These are worth the read…and reread ..perhaps even once more.

Lord John is a great character!
I enjoyed this book thoroughly. And it adds more depth to the original Outlander Series by Gabaldon. You have more backstory and characters are given a chance to become more developed and that only serves to give a depth of appreciation to the other books. Some reviews have been critical of ‘homosexual content’. But that’s a non sequitur. Lord John is gay and it’s a Gabaldon novel. Pretty sure there isn’t a criticism about too much ‘heterosexual content’ in the Outlander books. If you enjoy tLord John Grey, you’ll appreciate the story.
