Story
Did one of the Cavendish brothers poison their stepmother, Mrs. Iglethorp, or was it her new husband? Nadia May reads with such a delightful English accent, intonation, and careful pacing that the suspense and drama build gradually. Each character is easily distinguishable and a treat to listen to, especially Poirot. This baffling tale with many characters is well worth this listening experience. The compulsion to discover the truth is motive enough for all.

Not quite sure what the other reviewers are on about. The narration was wonderful. And Dorothy Sayers never disappoints.

Lose the Narrator or Lose Customers !
This narrator takes the prize for Worst Narration Ever Heard ! Have been listening to audio novels for over 15 years and she hits a low I never realized existed.
She makes Wimsey sound like a bad castrati in a medieval chorus : he squeals to show a range of emotions from surprize to astonishment to delight. I kept waiting for her-as-him to hit high C.
McDowell has taken the idea of "camp" into a whole new dimension. Poor Peter.
Ngaio Marsh put it best in an open letter to an aspiring would-be writer : You poor, poor boy. Poor, poor Peter Wimsey.
And poor poor listeners.

Nope, returning immediately.
I loath and despise Jane McDowell's unintelligible narration. I listened for a few minutes, I skipped forward to a different chapter, I tried, and I just about cried. Thank you, Audible, I will be taking advantage of your return policy this time.
I know that other people have recorded versions of Dorothy L Sayers books. I regret bitterly that I cannot buy those recordings online in Canada at this time. I'll be searching for old second hand copies on CD as my last hope.
