About this listen

In this new Jayne Frost and Sinclair Crowe mystery, a royal road trip takes the Princess and Prince Consort of the North Pole all the way to Las Vegas.

And even though they’re in Sin City on official business, it doesn’t take long for trouble to find them. Trouble that’s very close to home. In fact, Sinclair’s entire family is gambling on him and Jayne figuring out what’s gone dangerously wrong with the cool new magic trick at the end of his parents’ show.

Thankfully, they have help from a few friends and a pair of talking cats. But how many times can they roll the dice before time runs out?

Good but could be better

Good book and I understand the point of writing from the perspectives of both characters, but narrating like this is a bit disconnected.

Yes, having each narrator for Sinclair and Jayne speak their chapters is good, but having them do every character's voice in those chapters - including the other main character - is just weird. It feels like less of a story this way. Both narrators should have led their own chapters, but also speak their own parts throughout the book - even when the other narrator is leading, the other characters should have also been divided between the two narrators.

There are better ways to have done this and the story would have felt more connected.

So good! love this series ❤

What made the experience of listening the most enjoyable?

This series is great. I love the stories of Jayne Frost. I listened to them all out of order of the Noturne Falls and just focused on this.

What did you like best about this story?

The way it was read. BJ Harrison could read the phone book and I would love it. Hollis McCarthy will always be Jayne Frost to me. It was good to hear Sinclairs voice. It was a new take on the next phase of their lives together.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was the last two chapters.

Any additional comments?

It's a good stand alone spin off. Worth listening to and one I want to follow. I love Birdie.
