About this listen

Even when she won't fight for us, I'll go to war for her....

Inside the Octagon, I have no fear. I'm at home, in my element, inflicting pain onto men trained to hurt me just as badly. Making them submit, knocking them out, maiming them, because it's them or me. And I choose them.

Outside the Octagon, my only weakness is a five-foot-two, classy as f--k woman that I've loved for most of my life. She's the one that brings me to my knees, fills my arms, my heart, and one day soon, my bed. She makes me reckless. Volatile. I drink too much and try too hard to f--k my way out of feeling - all because of her.

Frankie De Rosa is my girl, my best friend. I haven't earned her yet, but I won't stand by and let anyone take her from me. She will be the greatest fight of my life, but she's worth the battle.

Love hurts, but anything worth having does, right?

I'm Deacon "The Hitman" Love - Welcome to the Cage.

Love Hurts: A Powerful Punch of Emotions

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat Level: 🔥🔥
📚E-BOOK📚&🎧AUDIO🎧

I was looking for a book that would gut me emotionally, so I turned to Facebook for recommendations. Imagine my surprise when Mandi Beck herself chimed in and suggested her book *Love Hurts*. Boy, was I not deceived. Thank you, Mandi, for that recommendation! This book started with a bang and ended almost the same way — with a jaw-dropping cliffhanger that has me clamoring for the next installment.

The story is masterfully narrated by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott, whose duet narration is simply stunning. Their performances brought the raw emotions of this story to life so vividly that I found myself ugly crying more than once. The depth they added to Deacon and Frankie’s tumultuous journey only made me feel everything that much more. Their chemistry, both as characters and narrators, is electric. I cannot wait to dive into the other half of this story.

At its core, *Love Hurts* is a friends-to-lovers tale, but it’s far from a gentle stroll into romance. Deacon "The Hitman" Love and Frankie De Rosa have been best friends forever, yet their relationship is anything but smooth. Deacon’s fiery temper and Frankie’s indecisiveness create a volatile dynamic that somehow just works. Maybe it’s the deliciously dirty talk Deacon delivers with every ounce of his passionate intensity? Or perhaps it’s his unwavering devotion to Frankie that makes him so compelling.

The story takes a turn when Frankie faces a life-altering event, and Deacon steps up, refusing to leave her side. His mission to show her how much he truly loves her and to prove that he’ll never let her go is both heart-wrenching and heartwarming. Their journey together is filled with tension, heartbreak, and raw vulnerability, but their undeniable connection keeps pulling them back to each other.

Mandi Beck doesn’t shy away from exploring the messy complexities of love and friendship. She delivers a story packed with grit, passion, and emotional depth. Just be prepared for the cliffhanger that will leave you desperate to know what happens next.

If you’re a fan of emotional romances with flawed, intense characters and stories that pull at your heartstrings, I highly recommend giving *Love Hurts* a try. And if you have any recommendations for books that will give me a similar emotional rollercoaster, please let me know — my TBR list is always open for suggestions!
