About this listen
This delightfully disastrous queer YA rom-com is perfect for fans of Jenny Han, Morgan Matson, and Sandhya Menon.
When Nozomi Nagai pictured the ideal summer romance, a fake one wasn't what she had in mind.
That was before she met the perfect girl. Willow is gorgeous, glamorous, and…heartbroken? And when she enlists Nozomi to pose as her new girlfriend to make her ex jealous, Nozomi is a willing volunteer.
Because Nozomi has a master plan of her own: one to show Willow she's better than a stand-in, and turn their fauxmance into something real. But as the lies pile up, it's not long before Nozomi's schemes take a turn toward disaster…and maybe a chance at love she didn't plan for.

Conflation of Gender and Sexuality
I had to stop listening after the main character said that being bisexual means you can date a different gender than yourself. What? Sexual orientation is about sex. Not gender. It's SEXuality, not genderality. It's biSEXuality, not bigenderality. It means you can date both sexes. Not more than one gender. Same SEX attraction, not same gender attraction. I'm so tired of this harmful homophobic conflation in today's lgbt community. On one hand gender is just a social construct according to the community, but then sexuality is based on gender? How? Sexual orientation is biological and immutable. As a lesbian, I don't care what gender someone is. I'm a female who is exclusively sexually attracted to other females. We all understood this just a few years ago. These days you're deemed a bigot for saying so, which is just 'woke' homophobia, and now I'm hearing this lunacy in lgbt media. *sighs deeply* But Happy Pride Month, right? Everybody's so happy. Sure.
The narration up until the point I stopped listening is great though. Smooth and belivable, and compelling.
