Publisher's Summary

Rafael

Ellie Sinclair is a hopeless romantic who writes love songs.

I'm a struggling workaholic who could inspire a hundred breakup albums.

On paper, we have nothing in common except for my son.

For eight months, I avoid her until our summer trip.

Fourteen days. Two islands. And one nanny I shouldn't be attracted to.

Spending time with Ellie is expected, but enjoying her company?

That isn't part of our travel plans.

After my divorce, I swore to protect my heart at all costs.

Even if it means breaking hers in the process.

***Ellie

What's worse than working for a grumpy single dad?

Admitting that I once had a secret crush on him in high school.

Thankfully, Rafael Lopez and I have changed since we graduated from Wisteria High.

He is a billionaire with a company to run and a child to take care of.

I'm an unemployed songwriter he hired to watch his son and teach music.

We coexist without any issues until a vacation changes everything.

Lines blur and old feelings for Rafael return with a vengeance as I face a new dilemma.

Being his son's nanny is one thing, but wishing for more?

Sounds like a heartbreak song waiting to be written.

the nanny trope will always stay superior

I think at this point i could read Lauren Asher’s grocery list and still shed tears! She does it again!!!

-single dad
-nanny
-vacation in Hawaii
-healing together
-grumpy sunshine
-small town
-found family

Rafael: our hot, and very grumpy, billionaire single dad to little Nico (i will argue that Nico was the sweetest fictional child there ever has been). Rafa struggles with feelings of belonging and happiness while all trying to be enough for his kid. This sometimes makes him forget what really matters in the moment.

Ellie: little miss musical sunshine and there best “un-qualified” nanny there ever has been! Ellie made me sob as we see her doubt her own self worth but learn to grow and even stick up for herself and her dreams!

Love Unwritten surprisingly held a serious and heavy tone that caught me off guard! these characters go through VERY REAL and looked over forms of self doubt, self harm, and detachment. I love books where you can look back and reflect on their growth bc for me it’s always character development over plot! this hit all the right spots!

The spice was good but surprisingly not my main focus point. i was actually excited to get past them to see where their relationship would move to next!! Overall one of my new favs and i feel like i could keep going on and on about how much i love them!!!

Song Writer to Nanny

Ellie takes on the role of a nanny for Rafael, who is a single father. His son has an eye condition that will eventually cause blindness. Oliver has developed a close relationship with her and now trusts her more than his own father. He becomes angry with Ellie due to this upsetting revelation.

Ellie, who is a songwriter, had her songs that she wrote stolen. By resolving the issue and helping her retrieve her songs, Rafael and she have grown closer, breaking down the walls around his heart.

I highly recommend listening to the audio of this incredible story.
