About this listen

Hannah

Maddox Lovelace. The captivating football player I met in college.

The one I only knew for a week. A week that was...life-changing. Until my phone rang, and I had no choice but to go home.

I left Maddox a letter, putting my feelings on paper, giving him my number, hoping he'd call. But he didn't call.

He never called. He got drafted into the professional league and lived like a king while I stayed home and struggled to stay afloat. I may have followed his career, but now that he's retired from football, I've forced myself to stop thinking about him. And it's okay that I won't ever see him again. That week in college was fifteen years ago. I'm not in love with Maddox anymore. I might even hate him.

Maddox

Hannah Utley. The name that's haunted me since my senior year of college. The girl who caught my attention with her wide eyes and freckled nose. Who spent one week twisting up my insides until she stole a piece of my heart the night we got locked inside the campus library.

The girl who disappeared without a word.

It's the name of the girl I've been trying to forget for fifteen years. And it's the name looking up at me from the resume in my hand.

Because Hannah Utley works for the company I just purchased.

And that makes her mine. Whether she likes it or not.

Maddox and Hannah

I was so excited this book was released early to audio! Maddox (football star) and Hannah (shy girl working in the library and working to get her degree) have an instant love connection. They literally only know each other for less than a week when something horrible happens to make Hannah leave school. She leaves a note for him but she never hears from him again.

Many years later.... She has been working for the same company for the past five years and they have just been bought out. Little did Hannah know it was bought by him... Maddox. The boy, now man who she's loved from afar during his whole NFL career. He's now retired and doing big things.
He owns many business's. He had no idea that she worked for this company. But as soon as her last name is mentioned in a meeting he knows it's her. He has questions about why she disappeared and she has questions why he never called.

This book has lots of hot moments. Lots of awwwww moments, he has thought more about her than she could ever believe! I really enjoyed book one in this series and can't wait for book 2!

Maddox is PERFECTION

I adored this book. Hannah and Maddox met at university and had a week long, yet life changing, encounter. Fast forward 15 years and their paths cross again. This book was so well done. The pacing and character development, the FEELS and emotion, were all incredible. Hannah wasn’t a doormat but had resigned herself to a small, quiet life. And Maddox, well, he never once forgot or got over the girl he met and spent a week falling in love with 15 years ago. I loved everything about this book. 10/10. No notes.
I would also be remiss if I did not mention the outstanding narration by Andi Arndt and especially Jacob Morgan.
