Publisher's Summary

Book two of a cozy fantasy LitRPG series that proves that even in the quietest lives, the most dramatic things happen. A recipe gone awry because you lack one important ingredient and you need to make this cake for someone you love for their birthday, which happens to be the next day. Low-stakes? Nah.

decent slice of life non-adventure adventure

straight up continuation of the first book, no complaints other than the complete over saturation of similes rampant throughout the book. it does get tiring, slogging through every verbose description of every minor eye twitch or tone a character does/uses. But that is just me. On the flip side the authors use an elevated vocabulary sprinkled in

The chosen narrator absolutely fits the main character fantastically.

overall not a home run, but it was interesting enough to keep my attention invested and was a decent listen while in between other series.

I will pick up the third once released as the world building and characters are holding my curiosity.
