Great Listen!

Great audio book to listen to when trying to figure out how to manage your money and get it to work for you. However it would be nice if when you paid for these books that they came with a PDF copy of the actual book, its hard and a pain in the ass having to pause and rewind the same 30 seconds of audio over and over again to write down exactly what is said. What does a pdf copy cost?

20 hours of immersive change

this is not a how to get rich in 5 seconds book but a how to rethink money in your mind if you have nothing or if you don't know how to get anything the reason for that is because you have not been around people who could teach you the mindset of amassing wealth this book is in is a mindset what steps but it's 20 hours long so if you just want bullet points which Tony could give you they won't work because you'll isolate each one and not understand the whole so once you listen to this for 20 hours take a break try to implement it and then listen to it again 20 more hours then take a break try to implement it and listen to it again most of us don't have great wealth Titans in our family to explain how to start with nothing and end up with more than you could ever dream so I think Whoever has listen to this for 20 hours it's probably will on their way to making a huge difference in our life if you can't get through 20 hours you sure as hell don't have what it takes to make 20 million.

such a lot of white noise

Okay, I love Tony Robbins, he is a great life coach. However, about 100,000 times you will hear: " In this book, you will learn all about how to become financially independent" and then they talk about how taking the first step is to get started and then they talk about some successful investor. The book is basically that recipe on repeat. Personally, I found it quite repetitive and sincerely, a bit boring. The other reader lacks Tony's enthusiasms. It's true that the first step is to get started. But after getting started that's when you really start learning. this book does not teach you how to start investing. No talks about investing companies and website. Just A LOT of inspirational quotes and A LOT of stories about people who are already mega rich. This is my first negative review. I really was expecting more.

USA resident based

Not really for Canadians but still worth it. Would love a Canadian based book someday.

The book could have been much more efficient

Good:
Tony is a great motivational speaker and the book has a ton of motivational content to convince the reader about the key ideas and to make them take the steps, specially if they are not already familiar with investing and ideas like risk reduction by diversification, compounding, asset allocation, index funds, etc. It warns readers about many common mistakes people make. This is a nice book for typical reader from the audience I think the book targets. Tony has spent a lot of time and effort interviewing many significant figures in investing for this book and to carry their ideas to the general public in an easy to understand manner. This is definitely a solid book.

Bad:
I personally would have preferred a much more condensed version. There is useful information in the book but they could have been communicated in 20 pages or less. I got the book because of Ray Dalio suggesting it in one of his talks but I guess it is not really for the people who listen to Ray or read his books (or for that matter John Bogle or David Swensen or Robert Shiller). If you know who these folks are, and you are already a highly motivated person, and you know the basics of investing, then you might get limited value from this book for your time. Unfortunately, the thicker a book is the more valuable it seems to the general public.

There is also considerable amount of advertisement for business that Tony benefits from and therefore not conflict-of-interests free. Talk with a _fiduciary_ financial adviser and compare with alternatives before making financial decisions about them.

Keep in mind that the book simplifies many ideas and nuances and some of the evidence provided for the advice in the book are anecdotal.

Good for beginners, unnecessarily lengthy

I have a finance background and was curious when Robbins pitched this book as something everyone can benefit from. I was also very curious about the portfolios from professional fund managers that he interviewed. The information he shares is excellent for new investors or those with limited experience in finance, and especially if you are an American investor. However he drags topics out for far too long and everything starts to sound like a sales pitch after awhile. I did learn one tip about automatic investing though, but the rest of the book was pretty useless to me. Just google the fund managers he talked to. All of their asset allocations are available for free. There are shorter and more efficient books on investing out there.

Very transformative

This is an amazing book however I did wish that it was Tony Robbins himself that would narrate most of it. He speaks with passion.
