Predictable but good

I have listened to a couple of Jessica Redland’s titles now, and perhaps it’s the consistent narrator, or perhaps it’s just the author’s writing style, but I have found them to be a bit predictable.
Having said that, it’s a nice, light, and happy story with some lovely characters of various ages which was interesting. A great way to balance out some of the other more intense period dramas I’ve listened to.

good read

Loved the book, not a huge Tony fan, though the other people in the book were good and it all came together at the end... graceful reading and worth the read.

Great story!

First of all, i love the story of this book. It is unexpected, heartwarming and sometimes frustrating too.

Secondly, i think Lucy Brownhill did a great job with the narration of the story. Her voice made a difference and gave justice to all the many characters of this complicated story.

Lastly, i love that the story have a great happy ending. Great audiobook indeed!

Held My Attention...

The book is basically a 'closed door' romance. The multiple story lines held my attention throughout the book. It's well written and the narration was decent.

Problematic

I wasn’t expecting amazing literature. The predictability and stereotypical romance aside though, the story champions a main character with some serious boundary issues and manipulativeness which everyone else lauds her for. That plus the ridiculous way in which everything wraps up perfectly and quaintly in every novel has made me give up on this author.
