About this listen

FBI agent Alex Cross is on vacation with his family at Disneyland when he gets a call from the Director. A well-known actress was shot outside her home in Beverly Hills. Shortly afterward, an editor for the Los Angeles Times receives an e-mail describing the murder in vivid detail. Alex quickly learns that this is not an isolated incident. The killer, known as Mary Smith, has done this before and plans to kill again. Right from the beginning, this case is like nothing Alex has ever confronted. Is this the plan of an obsessed fan or a spurned actor, or is it part of something much more frightening? And particularly baffling, how could a woman be capable of these vicious crimes? Members of Hollywood's A-list fear they're next on Mary's list, and the case grows by blockbuster proportions as the LAPD and FBI scramble to find a pattern before Mary can send one more chilling update. Filled with the ruthless and shocking twists that make his fans hunger for more, Mary, Mary is James Patterson's most sophisticated thriller yet.©2005 James Patterson (P)2005 Time Warner AudioBooks Police Procedural Suspense Celebrity Fiction Mystery Exciting Scary

Story wasnt the best imo

I enjoyed the reading of the novel in it's entirety, I feel like the people involved really know how to paint a great picture in your head. The story itself I felt was a little lacking but this may be due in part to the excitement of London Bridges, which was a tough act to follow. I am grateful to be able to continue my journey with Alex Cross, Nana Mama, the kids and Samson as well as the other characters in this world. I look forward to the next installation which I am downloading ASAP.

What? Not read this yet??

Any Alex Cross is worth reading. I typically go for longer books. Trying to get my moneys worth. But.....I never turn down Alex Cross. most of James Patterson’s books are excellent.

great story

this was a good listen. it kept my interest most of the time but I found parts were a little long and repetitive. the ending came much too quickly and contradicted a good deal that had already been said. still it was a good book with twists and turns to keep your interest.

Despite all efforts, Alex gets pulled back into solving homicides.

Liked how Alex perseveres to get cases solved.
Sad that Mary was unable to be brought back from the horrors of her past.
Glad Alex delved further into Mary’s past to find Bell.
