About this listen
In an isolated fortress, the Master of Crows battles an ancient god for possession of his soul. Renegade and heretic, he dreams of ways to defeat the god and destroy the priesthood who would execute him. Sent by her masters to betray him, a woman comes who possesses a weapon he can use to triumph over both, but only with the ultimate sacrifice. A tale of love and allegiance.

Mr. Jay Britton.
Once again Grace Draven immerses readers in her lush, richly written epics. I am not finished listening quite yet, and had to purchase the e-book as Jay Britton is just not fitting as narrator... more suited for a documentary piece or learning classic, I find the emotion, intonation (or lack-thereof) is equal to that of a recipe being read to me. The character voices are great, but what about the narration of prose between conversation? Falls flat.

Kind of meh
It was an okay fantasy and the relationship was mostly refreshing. I didn't end up really liking either one of the characters though and they were too stereotypical to find them particularly interesting. Same with the story, it was mostly very forgettable. Doesn't insult but it's not the best listen I've had this year

Great story
I really liked the story however the narrator was just terrible. He did not bring the story to life for me at all, I couldn’t wait for it to be over.
This story really deserves a redo with a different narrator.

Poor narration, good book
The narration is flat and monotone, definitely doesn’t do the book the justice it deserves.
