About this listen

To be a golfer is to tinker - with everything from equipment to grip to swing. But one thing most players don't give enough attention to is the mental game. Psychologists aren't a new phenomenon in golf, but Dr. Michael Lardon is a different breed of performance coach. Instead of sending his players into a losing battle against emotion, indecision, and fear on the golf course, he shows them how to organize their thoughts and use them for maximum performance. His step-by-step Pre-Shot Pyramid provides any player with the ideal blueprint for shot setup, and his revolutionary Mental Scorecard will give you the tools to accurately measure what you really do on the golf course. You will learn the same techniques that Dr. Lardon shares with Phil Mickelson and dozens of other tour players, including the tools that helped Mickelson right himself after the 2012 U.S. Open to win the British Open a month later with a historic final round.

Mastering Golf's Mental Game will change the way you think about golf, and is a must-listen for any player serious about shooting better scores and getting more enjoyment out of the game.

great stuff

i have incorporated the mental scorecard into my game, and its made a big improvement to my overall enjoymemt of playing. i have gone from being obsessed to get past certain milestones, and shifted my focus more towards my routines. For many years I was obsessed with getting into the 70s, I wanted to get to 50% up and downs, blahblahblah, and I would always tense up late in the round and choke! the result to using the mental scorecard is that I passed all my milestones I wanted to get past, and barely noticed it - all I focus on while I play is playing golf, enjoying my time, thinking about the challenge in a positive way, and my routines. thanks for the great book it's made a difference

Great insight!

I loved this, it helped me to improve my mental approach to the game of golf. as a 4-5 handicap, I struggled to improve my consistency on the course, and was in my head day after day about a certain club, hole, or shot. This book helped me to overcome these thoughts, and develop a pre-shot ritual, as well as a post shot thought process to overcome bad shots on the course. Highly recommend this book!
