About this listen
In the Society, Officials decide. Who you love. Where you work. When you die.
Cassia has always trusted the Society’s choices. And when her best friend appears on the Matching screen, she is certain he’s the one - until she sees another face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. Now she is faced with impossible choices: Between Xander and Ky, between the only life she’s ever known and a path no has dared to follow...between perfection and the truth.
Look for the sequel, Crossed, and the epic series finale, Reached!

a fun take on a coming of age story
a light read - a coming of age story that makes you want to see what the other two books have in store. great love triangle and interesting plot.

Similar but different
It is always interesting to read a futuristic novel and wonder if our world could become like that. This is similar to The Giver and To Kill a Mockingbird, but has its own insights and problems. I really enjoyed this book.

It was pretty good.
I love the story so much. i did find myself drifting off at times but that is just natural. THE MUSIC MADE IT SUCK. when they played music for “effect” it just made me cringe. but the overall story way superb as well as the voice over

why is the music?
great story, I've read all the books
There are, however, random music clips throughout the story?? I know they did it as a way to "enhance" particular scenes but it was just unfitting for the most part

phone on vibrate?
I could hear throughout the story a phone vibrating. bizarre. I thought it was my phone but I would rewind and relisten... definitely the recording.

Loved the story, hated the voice
I loved the story but didn’t like the narrator. She had a very high pitched and sort of annoying voice.

Good - BUT music is a bit annoying
I really enjoyed the story line and how the characters and plot twists unfolded. I did find that the added music (thankfully only in a few places) distracted from listening to the story and allowing the listener to develop their own scene. I enjoy audio books but I found myself annoyed by the addition of music. The music was too loud and overwhelmed the narration. Perhaps if it was much quieter I wouldn’t have minded it so much. A disappointing addition.
