excellent story and narration

A very imaginative and skilled retelling of european myth. I highly recommend reading the first book in the series before this one. Full of atmosphere and soul. I am often repelled by excessive violence and sex in this type of tale, but I found Lawhead to have struck a very good balance.

Great storytelling

A pleasure to follow the story from the beginning (start with Taliesin). Not overly violent, just enough of everything to be entertaining and interesting enough to not want to stop listening. Recommend for ages 15 up.
