About this listen
The incredible story of how a schoolteacher built a million-dollar portfolio, and how you can too....
Most people wouldn't expect a schoolteacher to amass a million-dollar investment account. But Andrew Hallam did so, long before the typical retirement age. And now, with Millionaire Teacher, he wants to show you how to follow in his footsteps. With lively humor and the simple clarity you'd expect from a gifted educator, Hallam demonstrates how average people can build wealth in the stock market by shunning the investment products peddled by most financial advisors and avoiding the get-rich-quicker products concocted by an ever widening, self-serving industry.
Using low-cost index funds, coupled with a philosophy in line with the one that made Warren Buffett a multi-billionaire, Hallam guides readers to understand how the stock and bond markets really work, arming you with a psychological advantage for when markets fall.
- Shows why young investors should hope for stock market crashes if they want to get rich.
- Explains how you can spend just 60 minutes a year on your investments, never open a financial paper, avoid investment news, and still leave most professional investors in the dust.
- Promotes a unique new investment methodology that combines low cost index funds and a Warren Buffett-esque investment philosophy.
Millionaire Teacher explains how any middle-income individual can learn can learn the ABCs of personal finance and become a multi-millionaire, from a schoolteacher who has been there and done that.

Great book with great explanations
They really broke things down and explained why to follow the different tactics and strategies and compared them to common tactics that the majority of people follow. If you do what everyone else does you’ll get the same results and this book explains how to use your money to work for you.

Great content, almost unbearable listen.
I learned a fair bit about investing and what could be some beneficial strategies of allocating my funds, although it made me wonder how much of this content and advice might still be viable information in today's strange market. That being said, I won't fault the author's inability to foresee a global pandemic and ungodly amounts of money printing as a counter-measure - the content was pretty strong.
This audiobook, however, was a bit of a pain. Was it really necessary to read out every URL? Made the process of listening through this book very irritating.

Informative but probly a better read as paperback
Pretty informative book with lots of sound advice on buying cars, saving money and investing wisely. There are lots of figures and tables though so might be a better read as a paperback so you can see those. A couple chapters did sound like advertisements for vanguard, but I'm still going to check them out. Overall I would recommend if you'rea novice to investing like myself..

Maybe a good read, but not a great listen
I've read most of the FI classics and this has to be one of my least favorite to date. The author uses to many metaphors throughout the book and the audible version was a terrible listen.
The speaker states every URL for the companies listed in this book, sometimes multiple in a row. I had to jump ahead on several occasions just not to hear "www." Again and again.
The nine lesson concept was weak as well. I felt like the book kept touching on the same points over and over. The importance of bonds and the disadvantage of actively managed funds.
You'd be much better off checking out "your money or your life" by Vicky Robin, "set for life" by Scott Trench or "the little book of common sense investing" by John Bogle. All of which state the same facts (and more) covered in Millionaire teacher, but in a much better way .

Sound advice but monotonous delivery
If I had to hear the another read one more website address— “www.” , my head was going to explode.
Sound advice but dry read. I Will Teach You To Be Rich is a similar, but far more engaging listen.

Highly recommended book
Clear and simple advice that should be given in high school, but isn't. Great listen.
