Story
Overcoming Borderline Personality Disorder is a compassionate and informative guide to understanding this profoundly unsettling - and widely misunderstood - mental illness, believed to affect approximately six percent of the general population. Rather than viewing people with BPD as manipulative opponents in a bitter struggle, or pitying them as emotional invalids, Valerie Porr cites cutting-edge science to show that BPD is a true neurobiological disorder and not, as many come to believe, a character flaw or the result of bad parenting.

Story
The causes of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder range from severe neglect to monstrous abuse. Many survivors grew up in houses that were not homes-in families that were as loveless as orphanages and sometimes as dangerous. If you felt unwanted, unliked, rejected, hated, and/or despised for a lengthy portion of your childhood, trauma may be deeply engrained in your mind, soul, and body. This book is a practical guide to recovering from lingering childhood trauma. It is copiously illustrated with examples of the author's and his clients' journeys of recovering.

However, there are limited resources for psychologists seeking to use DBT skills with individual clients. In the tradition of ACT Made Simple, DBT Made Simple provides clinicians with everything they need to know to start using DBT in the therapy room.

Put me into Remission
This was the first book I picked up after being diagnosed. For 14 years I suffered without the correct title and without any help. This book was a life changer and I can say I am 80% better than I was before it. I can control triggers and live more in the moment. AMAZING. Highly recommended. Written in a very non triggering way. Very empathetic, relatable, and eye opening.

Alternate title could be “how to jedi-up your life”
I struggled with BPD all my life, and I’ve read at least 20 books on self-help to try and understand my particular suffering (self-harm & self-hatred). This book is extremely powerful and I have no doubt I will be listening to it many times. It’s brought me so much peace to understand all the different little ways that excess emotions bleed into everyday activities and being MINDFUL of that was easier than I ever thought possible. But to do that you first need to understand the actual disorder, and this book is extremely clarifying on the topic while also being succinct. For me this book means self compassion, and that’s a gift that has been invaluable since my first read. Thank you.

Excellent book for anyone who thinks they might have BPD
This book explains the symptoms, feelings, and actions of people with BPD and more importantly gives techniques to work on your own symptoms.
It also explains BPD in a way that you don’t usually see - the symptoms of people who suffer with this in silence rather than the extreme versions that we often hear about.

Yes, this is the book you are looking for
I loved this book. From history of BPD to it's biology, from very descriptive examples to actually really working practices. I'm new to this topic, but this book is my favorite so far.
Highlights:
(+) BPD is actually explained here. It's not just a book about what to do it's also a book about what it is
(+) I liked the narrator very much. This is subjective, but I think both voice and intonation are very nice
(-) Not a word about Favorite Person (FP)
I recommended this book to all friends with BPD. Good luck, guys!
