Are there missing chapters?

I’m not sure if this is going to resolve itself in future instalments but I’m really distressed because I feel like there must be chapters missing from this recording. Like a massive plot hole. I’ve listened and re-listened to make sure I didn’t miss it but it’s just a gaping hole. I’m so confused. I checked a summary online and it does seem like there are huge parts missing. I think I’m a mix of sad and mildly frustrated.
