This John C. Dalglish story starts as a tale about a marriage truly struggling after a child dies and turns into a stalker drama after an ill-advised affair. I admit that I was anticipating a Christianity-flavored story based on the author's other work.. and thought this would be a murder mystery surrounding the dead child based on the first ⅓ of the book - but Dalglish genuinely surprised me. There are some legitimately shocking twists to the plot. The book is moderately sophomoric in terms of writing quality, but kinda captivating with the repeated twists.

Less fortunately, Bill Burrows is an "average" audiobook performer at best. His diction/timbre/cadence are creditable and he handles the tone of the story nicely.. but Burrows's female and child voices are straight-up awful.

In toto, 'Missing Chloe' rates 5.5 stars out of 10. The surprisingly harrowing book wasn't a total waste of time for free - but forgettable. It's not a crazy investment of time if you find it on the 'Plus' menu, but I can't recommend the book. Should they ask for a Credit, save it.

Slow at first but it picks and then I couldn’t put down. I will look up other books by this author because I enjoyed this book and I liked the twist, it was one thing I did not see coming.

Well this was such a misleading book. I really was not prepared for the unexpected twist in this diabolical suspenseful plot.
Started out as a sad tragedy of little Chloe. And I thought it would be a different type of story more related to Chloe. However, this wonderful Author turned this book around in a remarkable way. Pulling you into an intriguing narrative that was so unexpected.

So many twisted moments and incidents and suspicious characters but so phenomenally well written . The story had my full attention until the very end.
I loved it and highly recommend. I just downloaded 2 more books by this talented writer.
Brilliantly narrated with an amazing knack to imitate all the characters in this book. This narrator took us on a wonderful journey.
