Enjoyable cozy mystery series. Relatable characters. I just wish there weren't so many fat phobic references. So far, anti-fat bias hasn't been a major part of the storylines, but ooof so many incidental references. So unnecessary.

Ok for a listen while you do other tasks, but not a compelling story line
I wanted to like this series, and the first book was decent, but it feels like the author ran out of ideas for story lines. The main character’s passion in this book is something she was practically against in the first book. Some of the story/characters are just too unrealistic to really feel a connection in this series. Like the mayor’s character - last book he did unlawful things to try to force the main character to sell her home for his own personal investments, yet he’s still the mayor and is the boss of the police detective..
there are some good parts to the book, I enjoy some of the main characters and the sometimes unexpected humour, but the story line was really lacking to keep my interest unfortunately.
