About this listen
The much-anticipated return of the hit Audible Original Mistletoe Murders series, featuring Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother) reprising her role as the captivating Emily Lane in Mistletoe Murders 3.
From Canadian Screen Award winner Ken Cuperus, with Ginny & Georgia’s Raymond Ablack, plus a stellar ensemble cast featuring Anna Cathcart (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before), Enrico Colantoni (Veronica Mars), Alex Mallari Jr (Ginny and Georgia) and Jean Yoon (Kim’s Convenience), this new season of the Audible Original will help you prepare for yet another cozy (and criminal) holiday season.
When Emily Lane isn’t busy running her charming Christmas-themed store, ‘’Under the Mistletoe,‘’ located in the quaint tourist town of Fletcher’s Grove, she finds herself compelled to investigate not so quaint local murders. On the surface, Emily is a perfectly lovely, good-natured puzzle-solver and mystery lover. But she is hiding a secret past that has finally begun to catch up with her, as an old acquaintance arrives to throw a wedge between Emily and Sam’s burgeoning relationship, and worse, threatens to destroy the new life Emily has built for herself.
The Mistletoe Murders Audible Original series inspired the Hallmark+ adaptation of the same name starring Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney.
Available in Dolby Atmos on Audible.

Different but still entertaining
I kind of miss the getting together part of the story but like the twist and turn of the overall arch. Mystery was still fun. Loved it for the third year. Looking forward to next one!

More engaging mysteries from Fletcher's Grove!
“𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈’𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐈’𝐦 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐭.”
The last two years, I’ve listened to this Audible Original series in December, and now it wouldn’t feel like the holiday season without it. This year, we were gifted the Hallmark television adaptation (which is SO good in its own right) and the latest adventures of Emily, Sam, Violet and the residents of Fletcher’s Grove.
Once again, the production in this is EXCELLENT - the full voice cast, the sound effects, and background music are so immersive and all make for very engaging listening. Cobie Smulders, Raymond Ablack and Anna Cathcart sound so comfortable with their characters, and give strong performances as usual. I loved returning to Fletcher’s Grove and experiencing Brooke and Jay’s festive wedding gone wrong (Five Golden Rings). Much like Murder, She Wrote, murder seems to follow Emily even when she gets out of the town. U Better Watch Out features Middlebridge College, which definitely could feature prominently in future stories, and offered a nice change of setting while still keeping the suspect list to a reasonable amount. The mix of Emily and Violet’s inner narration was a nice switch up and also showed just how close Violet and Emily have become; they are so alike! The final story (The Death Clause) features a strong cliffhanger, but I hope the inclusion of the organization looking for Emily doesn’t lead the series down a ‘Revenge season 2’ path, but rather sticks closer to the small-town mysteries that made this series more often than not.
Mistletoe Murders 3 are stories of murder, secrets, jealousy, and ghosts of the past. The production and overall light-hearted mysteries continue to be the perfect mystery series for the holiday season; I am already greatly anticipating next year’s instalment!

Grittier, less cozy this year
I was obsessed with Season 1 and 2. Cozy, bit of romance, well-developed characters, mystery. This season (3) is darker, less believable writing, less of a cozy atmosphere. The terrorist piece with Emily seems gimmicky and too aggressive for this genre. Missing some of the original characters and feel of the previous stories. Outside of the music, which I love, this season really lacks a Christmas sensibility!

Missing the cozy Christmas
Loved season 1 & 2, the story this time was entertaining but it really was missing any holiday aspect. I loved the previous seasons descriptions of the town and characters this season was much more serious and less fun.
Still, I hope they bring it back for season 4!
