The book could have been much more efficient

Good:
Tony is a great motivational speaker and the book has a ton of motivational content to convince the reader about the key ideas and to make them take the steps, specially if they are not already familiar with investing and ideas like risk reduction by diversification, compounding, asset allocation, index funds, etc. It warns readers about many common mistakes people make. This is a nice book for typical reader from the audience I think the book targets. Tony has spent a lot of time and effort interviewing many significant figures in investing for this book and to carry their ideas to the general public in an easy to understand manner. This is definitely a solid book.

Bad:
I personally would have preferred a much more condensed version. There is useful information in the book but they could have been communicated in 20 pages or less. I got the book because of Ray Dalio suggesting it in one of his talks but I guess it is not really for the people who listen to Ray or read his books (or for that matter John Bogle or David Swensen or Robert Shiller). If you know who these folks are, and you are already a highly motivated person, and you know the basics of investing, then you might get limited value from this book for your time. Unfortunately, the thicker a book is the more valuable it seems to the general public.

There is also considerable amount of advertisement for business that Tony benefits from and therefore not conflict-of-interests free. Talk with a _fiduciary_ financial adviser and compare with alternatives before making financial decisions about them.

Keep in mind that the book simplifies many ideas and nuances and some of the evidence provided for the advice in the book are anecdotal.

Money lessons for anyone

I liked the fact that when I spoke with other investors after reading the book they were astonished how muck I learned, as well as how accurate the information is. I really enjoy Audible#1 such great information at your finger tips.

Pretty great

Once you get past the religious bull, there are a lot of diamonds in this book, about investing, finance and general life improvement.

Fantastic

You will need to listen to this book multiple times. There are multiple concepts that will need reviewing and research on your own. Finally, advice that is the real deal! It basically explains how investing really works if you don't want to get burned.

insightful

very great book.

one point.. during the chapter of Tony's interviews with a number of great investors it was really annoying that everytime the narrator quoted then back and forth he said there name. was painfully distracting and annoying to listen to.
other wise great read
