Publisher's Summary
So no one taught you about money, either? Let’s figure this me$$ out together.
In this illustrated, deeply unserious guide to money, Berna Anat—aka the Financial Hype Woman—freaks out her immigrant parents by doing the unthinkable: Talking about money. Loudly.
Because we’re done staying silent, anxious, and ashamed about our money. It's time to join the party and finally learn about all the financial stuff that always felt too confusing. Stuff like:
- How to actually budget, save, and invest (but also make it fun)
- How our traumas shape our most toxic money habits, and how to create new patterns
- How to build wealth in a system designed to keep us broke
- How to use money to fund our biggest dreams—and change the world
No more keeping our money on mute. It’s time to grab the mic.

A great beginners guide to to financial well-being
This book is inspiring, easy to understand, relatable and funny. I felt seen and am so grateful for the recognition she gives to Indigenous peoples. I will be getting both of my BIPOC teens to read this book so we can begin to plan their financial futures together.

Personal finance but accessible AND entertaining
Berna has made personal finance into something I look forward to doing rather than running away scared. I also learned a lot about financial social responsibility and how I can give back without giving up on my needs. It’s also encouraging to hear stories from someone who looks and talks like me. Definitely recommending this book to younger and BIPOC people who are interested in starting from zero with your finances.

get ready to get financially hyped up
This was such fun and accessible read! Which is absolutely not something you can say of most finance books. Reading this was like having a cool older sister or rad auntie who's willing to patiently explain all the relevant sh*t they're never gonna teach you in school. I especially loved the chapter that dived into approaching financial acitivism.
