About this listen

Feeling unwanted and still reeling from his encounter in the Garden of Clarity, Trent Embra leaves the city to find out what else the world has to offer.

Making his own decisions for the first time, an adrift Trent latches onto the quest in his status telling him to survive alone on the wilds for two weeks. With only the doctrine of Sergeant Cullen to guide him, and a sword to depend on, Trent puts his back to Al’drossford and heads south to find out how different life as an adventurer is compared to the one he has been leading.

Very good

I was underwhelmed by book two but this book made up for it. Good new characters, plenty of action and good character development. Looking forward to book 4.

In love with this series!!!

From start to finish, I loved this installment.
The entire story doesn't just read like a love letter to the genre of litrpg, but does it so well. I'm getting ready to press on to the next book in the series but it's a little bittersweet because it's the last one that's out so far and I can't listen to the fast enough

Exciting continuation

I don’t see an overarching plot line through all the books. Maybe that’s good writing keeping me in suspense but there is a slight dip in my interest level.

On the other hand, there are loads of smaller plot points that are always exciting

Wonderful story

Story keeps getting better, and Tim makes an exceptional narrator. I’ve listened to this at least 5 times, and will continue to listen as I wait for the next book to be released.

Need more. I'll pay taxes for it. WILLINGLY

Trent is going on an adventure!! I can't wait for when he reunites with his silly red headed friend and letting her meet his furry companion.

Decent read

Cullen just might be my favorite character in this series, the relationship he has with Trent makes me smile. I kinda wish he would join the team instead of heading back to the Duke

A new sublime experience

I've been meaning to write this review for a while... I was not motivated to write a review shortly after finishing the book because I was sad that it was over. I was utterly surprised when a tear fell from my eye after the audiobook wrapped up, the realization sinking in that I wouldn't have Trent's company anymore. I'm not someone to get emotional in that way. I have read many books, and I am still scratching the surface on audiobooks. Yet I find myself wondering if I have ever had such a feeling of connection or closeness that I did for Trent. This is owed immensely to the talent of Tim Campbell. I am discovering how essential a good narrator is to a good audiobook, and Campbell's narrating is what made me disappear into these worlds with these characters.

I was on the fence about trying this new genre of LitRPG when Audible suggested it, but I quickly found it extremely entertaining. I absolutely loved the feeling of reading something unlike anything I had ever read before. I have tried reading another LitRPG since then, but it did not live up to The Infinite World series. Something about Trent waking up to the world and discovering it along with the reader was a perfect way to develop the game-like setting. Wright's world building was wonderfully done, and was well thought out, which I appreciated. Again, it really helped the RPG elements not feel heavy handed. Trent's character development and evolution was also very meaningful and resonated a lot with me. Something about Trent just connected with me and I felt myself walking alongside a close friend while I listened to this story. I felt inspired and motivated by his journey. I owe a lot to this series. It has supported me through some very recent hard times. This third book in the series has been my favorite and I can't wait to see what comes next. Thank you J. T. Wright for creating such a new, innovating and exciting experience. It means a lot to me.
