About this listen

Standing on the cliffs of 12th-century Ireland following the disappearance of his twin, Hoyt Mac Cionaoith is visited by the goddess Morrigan and is charged with the ultimate of tasks: saving his and all future worlds.

His enemy, the beautiful but deadly vampire queen Lilith, has had over 2,000 years of experience in cruelly killing and changing humans into one of her own - including Hoyt's brother, Cian.

Now, Hoyt, a sorcerer, must travel across the world and through time to find and train the five others Morrigan has prophesized will join him as a circle and do battle against Lilith's army of vampires on Samhain in the land of Geall.

But just who is the witch, the shape-changer, the scholar, the warrior and the vampire? How will this unlikely band of six prepare and become one with less than three months until the possible end of the world?

Following the arrival of Glenna Ward - a modern day witch with a knack for making her own kind of magic, the kind that makes his heart melt - Hoyt must find the strength to save the world, and a love that knows no bounds.

Good story, performance not great

As usual, I love the NR story. The performance was meh. I had a hard time with the oh so fake female voices

Lovely

What a performance. Narration is top notch. Story has all of the pain, sorrow, humor and hope laid out in an roller coaster of life. Time travel is an added plus. Would put this book in a must listen to again . I will definitely follow the trilogy.

narrator had all the woman's voices sounding whiny

I couldn't finish the first book. The story was good but the narrator was terrible. Glenna sounded like a whiny annoying girl instead of a strong witch.

Great story - Bad Narrator

It's one of my favorite series, I very much enjoy the story.
However, the narrator does well for the males voices, but every time he does the speaking for any female voices it's horrible, takes me right out of the story. He makes this higher, grating voice that ruins the narrative for me.

Love the story

Love the story, fast paced but I am not a fan of the narrator who does a good job for some of the male characters but when it comes to females characters tits harder to distinguish them as they all sound the same and a bit like a man wanting to affect being effeminate
