About this listen
For decades, the Holloways have operated a convenience store in the working-class neighborhood of Rabbittown in St. John's, and every customer has a story.
In a vibrant, contemporary family saga, filled with idiosyncratic characters, Trudy Morgan-Cole tells the tale of three generations of Holloway women - Ellen, Audrey, and Rachel - their loves and their livelihood in times of great change.
Most Anything You Please captures the spirit of a community and the women who hold it together, revealing the bonds that break and the ties that bind.

Brilliant…worthy of every moment spent listening or reading
The journey expressed by the author’s vision finds its way to the personal life experience of the hearts and recall of its audience. As for me, the corner story was not situated on a corner at all but rather in the midst of tiny older homes on Salisbury Street in London Ontario Canada. With rarely possessing enough coin to purchase candies to be shared with local friends, my sister and I would make our way, without others, in order to fully savour the wee bag of sweets we were able to afford…such a treat, so rare that our hearts were totally satisfied!

Delightful audiobook
I enjoyed the characters, the storyline and the some of the history of the corner stores in the communities of Newfoundland. It gave me a greater appreciation for my own east coast family’s love for music. This was a delightful read.

Highly recommend - story of a Newfoundland family
I really enjoyed this novel. The primary characters (3 women), covering 3 generations, were strong and sympathetic. I really liked them and felt emotionally invested in their struggles and achievements. The St. John's Newfoundland environment was prominent and really interesting (I've not yet visited Nfld but hope to soon). Hearing about the music scene and how it evolved was also interesting.
The narrator was an appropriate choice. Her Nfld accent contributed greatly to the story, and often made me laugh with words like "friggin", etc. It felt very authentic. I am happy to have listened to this novel, when I could have just read the written page. This was an enjoyable experience and felt like spending time with family.
I liked the structure, written in the 3 women's voices, progressing through time. The music interludes added additional interest and perspective.
Yes, I highly recommend this novel! I'm really happy to discover and read another excellent Canadian author, and one from Nfld - a province with such heart, soul, laughter and song,

charming
I did not want to leave the Holloway family at the end of this book. An interesting, charming, sprawling, beautifully written story with rich character development. Enough story lines to keep things rolling along without a single dramatic rise and conclusion. A rare book that I would want to check in on the story even if I only had 5 minutes to listen. Narrator was brilliant - subtly unique accent and cadence for each character - lovely performance.
