A stunning trek through the wilds of Thailand!

Gilman weaves her mysteries through the lens of people and places. Mrs.Pollifax’s many successes generally come from her innate sense of who she can trust and who she can’t. Whose behaviour she can predict to a certain extent, thanks to her understanding of human nature. In this book, that sense is compromised because she’s emotionally compromised. Which leaves us struggling to get a read on the people she meets too. The parts I enjoyed the most in this one involved her warm acceptance of cultural differences and new experiences. As always, I love Gilman’s vivid descriptions of the setting.

One of the best stories

This is one of my favorite Mes Pollifax books, I love the story and the new characters she meets. Barbara Rosenblatt does a great job with narration, as usual!

More adventures

Mrs. Pollifax in this one isn’t as on form as previous books but to me this makes sense as she is still recovering from the events that happened in the previous novel - highly recommended
