About this listen
In the small village of Kilbane, County Cork, Ireland, Natalie's Bistro has always been warm and welcoming. Nowadays twenty-two-year-old Siobhan O'Sullivan runs the family bistro named for her mother, along with her five siblings, after the death of their parents in a car crash almost a year ago. It's been a rough year for the O'Sullivans, but it's about to get rougher.
One morning, as they're opening the bistro, they discover a man seated at a table with a pair of hot pink barber scissors protruding from his chest. With the local garda suspecting the O'Sullivans, and their business in danger of being shunned. It's up to feisty redheaded Siobhán to solve the crime and save her beloved brood.

Story
Tara never imagined her introduction to Ireland like this - carrying her mam's ashes to honor her final request: "Tell Johnny I'm sorry.... Take me home." She's never met her mam's estranged brother, Johnny Meehan, who owns an architectural salvage business in Galway. Although Tara is immediately charmed by the medieval city, the locals seem wary of strangers, and a gypsy warns her that death is all around. When Tara arrives at her uncle's stone cottage, the prophesy seems true. A dead man lies sprawled over the threshold in a pool of blood.

Excellent performance, somewhat predictable story.
The performance was excellent and, overall, this was a lovely cozy mystery. I did find the solution somewhat predictable. However, that didn't take away from my enjoyment of following the heroine while she figured it out. 🙂

Thoroughly enjoyed!
I added this during an Audible 2-for-1 special and discovered an author I hadn’t heard of before!
I’ll definitely be searching for more titles by Carlene O’Connor.
I also very much liked the narrator!

Couldn’t listen until the end
I am sorry, I just couldn’t listen until the end… maybe because there was too much dialogue between characters that made the story move very slow, maybe because there was too much cliche, whatever… the Irish accent was the same for all characters, which felt,,, monochromatic ( if that were to be the description of a colour).
