À propos de cet audio
Return to New York Times best-selling author Anne Bishop’s "phenomenal" (Urban Fantasy Investigations) world of the Others - where supernatural entities and humans struggle to co-exist, and one woman has begun to change all the rules.…
After winning the trust of the terra indigene residing in the Lakeside Courtyard, Meg Corbyn has had trouble figuring out what it means to live among them. As a human, Meg should be barely tolerated prey, but her abilities as a cassandra sangue make her something more.
The appearance of two addictive drugs has sparked violence between the humans and the Others, resulting in the murder of both species in nearby cities. So when Meg has a dream about blood and black feathers in the snow, Simon Wolfgard - Lakeside’s shape-shifting leader - wonders if their blood prophet dreamed of a past attack or a future threat.
As the urge to speak prophecies strikes Meg more frequently, trouble finds its way inside the Courtyard. Now, the Others and the handful of humans residing there must work together to stop the man bent on reclaiming their blood prophet - and stop the danger that threatens to destroy them all.

Still loving this series
The narrator, Alexandra Harris, is easy to listen to and the story keeps giving the audience a Crow’s eye view of the world of The Others.

Painful
This book was not for me. I found myself constantly looking at the time to see how much was left and wondering if I should just give up on it. I decided to see it through to the end but it was fairly mundane from start to finish. I was a bit amazed at the length of the book as it did not seem to really go anywhere.
As for the narrator she spoke in a very soft, even tone throughout the book which made it feel as though there was no climax at any point despite some potentially "exciting" sections. I also found that there was almost no inflection at the end of the narrators sentences which made it feel off. I got used to her by the end of 14 hours but it was too soft and even. I also did not like her male voices especially Simon who is a main character. I think this is because he is an alpha wolf who is supposed to be a very strong, commanding character but his voice did not sound right coming from such a soft feminine narrator.
Now for the story line. Boring, boring, boring. it had a lot of potential but it felt too long and there was not really any high points (partly the narration). A lot of the story surrounds the main character Meg who is in the same safe place the entire book just working and going about her life while having prophesies from time to time. I just didn't connect with the main character in any way as she was uninteresting and weak. Yes she has over come some pretty significant events but i was hoping she would toughen up and become more remarkable at some point but it really did not happen.
As it stands I will not be reading any more of this author or this narrator. Very disappointed all all fronts.
