À propos de cet audio
Master storyteller and internationally bestselling author Christopher Paolini returns to the World of Eragon in this stunning epic fantasy set a year after the events of the Inheritance Cycle. Join Dragon Rider—and fan favorite—Murtagh and his dragon as they confront a perilous new enemy!
The world is no longer safe for the Dragon Rider Murtagh and his dragon, Thorn. An evil king has been toppled, and they are left to face the consequences of the reluctant role they played in his reign of terror. Now they are hated and alone, exiled to the outskirts of society.
Throughout the land, hushed voices whisper of brittle ground and a faint scent of brimstone in the air—and Murtagh senses that something wicked lurks in the shadows of Alagaësia. So begins an epic journey into lands both familiar and untraveled, where Murtagh and Thorn must use every weapon in their arsenal, from brains to brawn, to find and outwit a mysterious witch. A witch who is much more than she seems.
In this gripping novel starring one of the most popular characters from Christopher Paolini’s blockbuster Inheritance Cycle, a Dragon Rider must discover what he stands for in a world that has abandoned him. Murtagh is the perfect book to enter the World of Eragon for the first time . . . or to joyfully return.

"Twenty years after ERAGON, Gerard Doyle's familiar and compelling voice returns to narrate MURTAGH.... Doyle's talent for accents and passionate battle sequences shines, complementing the author's vivid world. Murtagh's voice resonates with a Scottish lilt, and Thorn's is a deep, throaty rumble. Doyle's somber narration of their torturous upbringing will break listeners' hearts. Yet, amid the shadows, the narrative brightens as the inseparable pair confront seemingly insurmountable challenges--and triumph through the strength of their bond." (AudioFile)
"A much-needed follow-up centering a beloved character." —Kirkus Reviews

Fantastic book
Love the way Paolini made Murtagh distinctly different from Eragon in the way he used Magic and viewed the world

Murtagh and Thorn are amazing
I’m a sucker for a story with dragons and I blame Christopher Paolini in particular. The bond between rider and dragon is so special and Paolini really grew as an author to be able to tell this story the way it needed to be told!

worth the wait
oh boy did I enjoy this book. the story was thrilling, agonizing, tragic and left me with many questions and excitement with how the story will progress in new installments. I felt like I had a clear picture with how the words painted into my mind on the ongoings of what happened. my words cannot do justice on how fitting this book is for the character of Murtagh. 10/10 would fork again

Alagëasia is back!!
This is a great first read for anyone unfamiliar with the world of Eragon and a must read for anyone who has read the Inheritance cycle. I've been waiting 12 yearsfor the chance to return to this world in a fresh full length novel and this doesn't disappoint at all.

The story and reading were solid!
Loved it overall, especially the new perspective of the world. Was a great continuation, my only fear is that the will cheapen the old series by making this new big bad some how was stronger than the old villain.

Very enjoyable story and nostalgic.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story even though the narrator rolls the "R's" way to much, it is a little distracting.

Rather enjoyed
This book was highly awaited and did not disappoint in either story or narration. However, this series is one of my favourites and have read/listened to the previous four books multiple times and I have noticed in this one that the narrator voices Thorn to sound an awful lot like Safira from the previous four books so that is the only downfall to me, I kept feeling as if I was listening to Safira speak when Thorn's lines were delivered.
