Publisher's Summary

The hilarious, heartwarming new novel from #1 internationally bestselling author Marian Keyes.

Anna has just lost her taste for the Big Apple . . .

Anna has a life to envy. An apartment in New York. A well-meaning (too well-meaning?) partner. And a high-flying job in beauty PR. Who wouldn't want all that? Anna, it turns out.

Turning a minor mid-life crisis into a major life event , she switches the skyscrapers of Manhattan for the tiny Irish town of Maumtully (population 1,217), helping old friends Brigit and Colm set up a luxury coastal retreat.

Tougher than it sounds. Newsflash: the locals hate the idea. So much so, there have been threats—and violence.

Anna, however, worked in the beauty industry. There's no ugliness she hasn't seen. No wrinkle she can't smooth over.

There's just one fly in the ointment: old flame Joey Armstrong. He's going to be her wingman. Never mind their checkered history. Never mind what might have been. Because no matter how far you go, your mistakes will still be waiting for you.

What the critics say

"Keyes is a powerhouse. My Favourite Mistake is not just a fizzy romantic comedy, but also a piece of social commentary. Her protagonist’s voice is crystal cut with observations about gentrification, sexism and an economic system that tells women they are nothing without expensive serums and Peleton machines."The Sunday Times

"Warm-hearted and deftly plotted page-turner. A celebration of kindness: that of family and friends."Sunday Telegraph

"You are all in for a treat. My Favourite Mistake is by turns hilarious and heart-breaking, with a very satisfying mystery at the heart of it too."—Elly Griffiths, author of The Last Remains and The Great Deceiver

Another winner!

Love Marian Keyes. I liked this one too. Good return to old story with new dramas and always a central nod to something contemporary that is problematic for women. She did a great job. It is a treat for her to read it to us!

Long and rambling

This could have been half the length. I remember reading some Marian Keyes books and enjoying them but this one had me skipping ahead frequently and felt like it introduced so many storylines and characters that weren’t necessary. I thought narrator was ok, but was definitely not as good as professional narrators.
