About this listen
Be inspired by saints like never before in My Life with the Saints by James Martin, SJ. This best-selling memoir of spiritual self-discovery is an homage to the saints who have accompanied Fr. Martin throughout his life. From a lukewarm childhood Catholicism, to the Wharton School of Business, to the executive fast track at General Electric, to the Jesuits, to a media career in Manhattan, Martin has relied on the saints to intervene in and guide his life.
As Martin shares with us his many surprising encounters and journeys with the saints, he convincingly explains how we, too, can be close friends with the saints.

Amazing life story; makes the Saints personal
Other reviews are spot on. Enlighteninging and inspiring to hear a "practical" application of praying and relating to the saints.
beautifully written and read- honest, relatable and now I can't wait to learn more about the saints! and aim for holiness myself, in my own way, for my own life.

A good introduction to the saints
As I know relatively little about the saints, I felt this was a good introduction and pushed me to want to learn more. Through his own life story, Father Martin helps us get to know the saints and models how we can learn from them and relate to them. The stories were beautifully intertwined with his own, and thus highlighted how each of us is on our own journey towards holiness.
My only critique was that Father Martin seemed to be “reading” his own book. That is, he employed a distinctive reading voice rather than a conversational one, which didn’t seem to fit the style of the book itself. It came across as a little monotone sometimes. Overall, however, I got used to it and soon got lost in the fascinating stories. Highly recommended.
