Publisher's Summary

Enter a world of luxury, lust and love with this scorching first title in T L Swan’s provocative and witty Kingston Lane series.

The first time I laid eyes on Henley James, I was mesmerized.

The chemistry between us was like nothing I’d ever felt.

Impeccable suit, dimpled smile. He was charming and gorgeous, sophisticated and suave. He gave me his business card and asked me to call.

His dating game was strong; I was gone from his first smile. I’d love to tell you our date was a raging success, but it wasn’t. Far from it.

I decided right there on that day that Henley James and I would forever be mortal enemies; I would never think of him again.

Three years later, I bought my dream home. I’m so excited to meet my neighbors—that is, until I do.

Oh no! What are the chances?

It’s him. Still single, still the hottest man alive, and still obnoxiously sarcastic. He saunters around wearing next to nothing and refuses to close the blinds at night.

I will not let myself think of him at all costs. It could be my sanity.

My temptation is a nightmare.

DNF

I did not enjoy this story whatsoever- I actually found Juliet baffling and delusional. Her actions and decisions didn't make sense for 90% of the book. Even as she acknowledged what she was doing as ridiculous, or even as she recognized she was going 100% against the wishes of the MMC, she would still go forward and double down on her decisions- deciding that what she felt was more important than the boundaries or feelings of everyone else. Somehow, all secondary male characters were instantly interested in her. However, they became props and tools for her to make MMC jealous (each and every time). And likewise for secondary female characters- they became points of jealousy for Juliet. To the point where it seemed like female against female- rather than focusing on the shi*t behaviours and tendencies of MMC and friends.

Narration was odd. The pacing of conversations were awkward and rushed- it felt like the pauses were edited out or shortened.

I would be mad if I had spent actual money on this audiobook, but I was able to request my credit returned.

Hilariously Romantic

Story line is unpredictable, funny, sexy, and addicting. It’s a love-hate relationship that will get your emotions on a roller coaster. It is such a pleasure to listen to this audio book. Can’t wait for the next series.

Not as great as the other books

I love TL Swan’s books, everyone of them, and this one is god, but just goes on toooo long. I like the story, the narrators are good, but it just took too long o get going. Other than that, I enjoyed the b, but found myself ready to stop and give up a couple of times.

Alternate Title: The Lies I Tell to Force Love

Juliette was/is the most unlikeable. Her whole motive was founded on telling lies in order to attract the attention of her love. But also contradicted those lies by making them truths and getting upset when he opposed her. Unbearable.
As for the narration, I really enjoyed the male narrator. He did a believable job with character differences. I felt every emotion when it came to the end with father and son. I know he was crying when Henley did. I could listen and to him with ease, anytime. Please hire him moving forward.
