About this listen
Since the dark days of the Great Awakening, the scattered remnants of humanity have clung to a bleak existence, surviving howsoever they can, no matter what the cost.
Tamra, a voivode of the Rictus clans, fights one last, desperate battle for the survival of her tribe, the Drak. Now her people face their most relentless enemy ever - the lumbering minions of the Plague God. Where is their lord Nagash, the Undying King, when his people need him most? As the gods and their servants vie for power in the Mortal Realms, Tamra is drawn into a deadly game between life and death, as beings long thought gone start to exert their powers once again.

Death and Decay at war before the Storm.
As a fan of both Nurgle and Nagash this story was a must have from its description alone, but it is a great story regardless to ones factional preferences. A fascinating look into the struggles of Shyish before the return of Sigmar, and more importantly, Nagash. Focusing on the actions of a shyish tribe leader, as she works together with many of The Realm of Death's most famous and infamous to defeat a Chaos Incursion by an almost humorous order of Nurglite Knights on horse-beast back. Without spoiling anything my only major complaints in this story that stop it from being 5 stars are that I feel either material was cut out from near the end, or the section needed to be fleshed out more as it feels rushed and at times confusing to understand the exact flow of cause and effect. And second even as a huge Nurgle fan there are a few scenes that come off as overpowered, and while not enough to be irritating does feel a bit jarring.
As for the audio performance I am far from the only reviewer praising the talent and passion of the narrator, one that has made me hopeful to hear more of her! Deserving of a full 5 stars, this story made me an instant fan.
