I am a huge fan of Akala (if you haven't watched his talk at the Oxford Union, I highly recommend that you do so immediately), and this book was as good as I hoped it would be. Akala weaves together stories of his own life with a historical and critical examination of class and race in British colonial history. The book doesn't shy away from the complexities of the subject, nor does it shy away from some of the more difficult aspects of the subject. Despite the complexity of its subject matter, the book is accessible and enjoyable to listen to. I HIGHLY recommend this book.
