I think this is going to be a great series!
I really enjoyed this book! It’s so different from Zodiac Academy, but still has the elemental magic and orders we’re used to. It’s just a completely different way of living; always at war with the other elemental’s. It definitely kept me on my toes the whole way through, and left off leaving me wanting more! I can’t wait until book 2 releases! As for the narrator, I thought she did a great job as always, but I didn’t love the voice of Vesper. However, I can very much appreciate that her voice was unique from all the other characters and books she’s voiced for the sister’s series, so I guess that’s pretty cool. (Hope that makes sense lol)
Overall great job all around, and a definite must read/listen!

Two unrelated girls go to college, make an alliance, lose everything, and trust the wrong men.
Unsure if I’ll read book two when it comes out. The pacing of this was slow and a lot of the time I didn’t really feel pulled to care about the characters.
If you were a huge fan of the Manon/Elide dynamic in Throne of Glass, this might be the series for you.

Nice characters, slow development
Till chapter 10 it was very hard to follow and to focus - for me. I almost gave up. But then it started making sense. I wanted to see more of the Kaiser, but i guess it’s slow burn. Overall the plot was not very complex and was pretty slow paced - but i hope it will be better in book 2 since things were uncovered.

Booktok has failed me
The characters are completely one dimensional andit ultimately makes for a very tedious book. A lot of action/fight scenes with no plot.
