Publisher's Summary

All her life, Sara Gallagher has wondered about her birth parents. As an adopted child with two sisters who were born naturally to her parents, Sara did not have an ideal home life. The question of why she was given up for adoption has always haunted her. Finally, she is ready to take steps and to find closure. But some questions are better left unanswered.

After months of research, Sara locates her birth mother - only to be met with horror and rejection. Then she discovers the devastating truth: Her mother was the only victim ever to escape a killer who has been hunting women every summer for decades. But Sara soon realizes the only thing worse than finding out about her father is for him to find out about her. What if murder is in your blood?

Never Knowing is a complex and compelling portrayal of one woman’s quest to understand herself, her origins, and her family. That is, if she can survive....

Story was good…

The story was good, the main character drove me slightly nuts with her naïveté…but still a unique storyline nevertheless. The narration though… first off, Sarah is supposed to be in her 30’s and the narrator sounded MUCH older, the voice definitely did not match the character. Secondly…as a Canadian, the fake Canadian accent was absolutely HORRENDOUS!!!!! It got worse and worse as the story went on, and actually distracted me from (and ruined) the story itself at times.

Ok book

A bit predictable. I felt like the voice didn’t work for the character being portrayed.

not great

This was not one of her better books. The narrator's voice grated and was unpleasant!

oh the narrator

i generally don't give reviews. its taking all i've got to finish listening. i've recently falling in love with Chevy Stevens books... and have listened to quite a few now.
but this narration. i have this visual of the main character being a whiny suck. and her none speaking line voice sounds like 'sex with sue'. lol
otherwise, not done yet but i'm intrigued by the story and i'm sure i'll finish... despite whiny sara.

Story: good Narrator: terrible!

Wasn’t my favourite of Chevy Stevens books. But in all fairness, that could be largely down to the absolutely AWFUL narrator. Her voice grated, and made the main character come off as a whiny, hysterical nightmare. Please Chevy, do not use this narrator again, I love all your other books!
