About this listen
As a forensic genealogist, Willow Anderson is following in her late grandfather's footsteps in her quest for answers about a baby abducted from the hospital more than 20 years ago. The case may be cold, but things are about to heat up when someone makes an attempt on her life to keep her from discovering the truth.
Ex-FBI agent - and Willow's ex-flame - Austin McKade readily offers his help to protect the woman he never should have let get away. Together they'll follow where the clues lead them, even if it means Austin must face the past he's spent much of his life trying to forget. And even if it puts Willow's tender heart at risk.
In this fast-paced and emotional pause-resister, best-selling author Elizabeth Goddard keeps the stakes high, the romantic tension sparking, and the outcome uncertain until the very end.

Fabulous book, but not the audio
I liked the story a lot, but I am very relieved that there is a different narrator for the other two books in the series. I don’t know how to say this except to be honest. I’m really sorry.....
While her regular voice was nice, her character voices weren’t always consistent and some were pretty awful. The friend/co-worker was particularly bad. She sounded like shrew. Health’s voice sounded like a crotchety old man. The main female and male character sounded like petulant, young teenagers at times and Charlie sounded like an airhead sometimes.
There was way too much OVEREMPHASIS and OVERLY-DRAMATIC reading way, way, way too much. While I appreciate variety and emotion and proper tones, this was over the top. Good thing the story was good.
At times the writing was overdone to describe something. The word, “accosted” was used a few times and not always appropriately. Some of the descriptions or moments were a little over the top as well.
I do look forward to the next two books in this series and I hope I love the narrator for those two. It was a very interesting storyline and had lots of twists and turns.

Story okay
The story was okay. I didn’t care for the narration as it was too dramatic and over the top.
