About this listen
Neil needs a bodyguard and a keeper. Fortunately, Brody can be both.
Morning news anchor Neil Klein has a mouth that often gets away from him. When one of the things he says on air puts his life in danger, the bratty “little” resists the bodyguard his producer hires. He doesn't need anyone to run his life and nobody is going to tell him what to do. At least, that's what he says when he fires the hot new bodyguard.
Except that former Ranger Brody Johnson isn’t willing to leave. He was brought in to do a job and he’s going to do it. Neil needs a keeper, that much is obvious. Also clear? The only one uniquely qualified for the position is a protective former Dom with all the skills that a twenty-year military career can teach a man.
This is a 25k stand-alone novella. Watch out for adorable cats, a little who’s really a middle, and enough Mario references to make you hear the game’s music beeping and booping through your mind. You’ll probably catch yourself giggling out loud, but what else can you expect from a Susan Hawke book?

Great short story

This was a quick read. Just over 2 hours. Romance crossed with mystery drama. However, the mystery suspect was pretty obvious from the start. There wasn't any attempt to leave the reader in suspense which was fine by me. I love Susans books and although there is usually a back story her books are focused mainly on the relationships so that was to be expected. I loved the 2 MCs. They had great chemistry. They story was interesting and cute. Another great by Susan. The entire Davies Rules series still being my fav but this is close behind.
Neil is a news anchor who also happens to be a little or in his case a middle. He is a bit of a brat who runs his mouth and is in desperate need of a daddy. He is also in need of protection after his mouth gets him into trouble on air and he gets threats. His producer who knows of his middle side hires his friend who is an ex Ranger retired from the military after 22 years and who is also familiar with the Daddy Dom scene to be Neil's live in body guard. They butt heads but are forced to put up with each other due to the fact that Neil would be hard pressed to try and find another body guard that would keep his secret.
Michael Dean is great as always.
