Interesting Concept

This was an interesting concept for me in that there was a distinct lack of written documentation. There was of course documentation with the course but it was difficult to understand a lot of the conjugated verb spelling because French unlike a lot of other languages tends to have consonants that are silent. I do understand that this is an AUDIBLE course but some more explicit documentation would have made it much easier for me.

Excellent teaching method

I really really loved this audiobook and listened about 3 hrs/day. The gradual introduction of new vocabulary, tenses, gender, pronunciation, insight etc to each lesson definitely improves retention and I'm quite thrilled about what I was able to learn over the few months it took me to get through his beginner and intermediate series. I think you will too. in my opinion it's far better than many of the others I've tried such as Pimsleur. However, don't be under the illusion that you will be anywhere close to speaking conversational French from these two (6 editions total), series alone. And, unfortunately, I cannot find any follow-ups to more advanced French from the same author. For the most part I liked everything about the saudio book. Some of the things that were confusing were the lack of spelling of many of the new words. Also new vocabulary is sometimes limited ie words like mother, father, son, daughter are taught yet not brother, sister, husband, wife. at the end of the book all the numbers, alphabet, months of the year are taught. I would like to see more of the months used in example phrases rather than always May and July?

love the coaching

l would recommend this audible book. lt was like having your own personal trainer. By the end the sentences will be coming out more naturally. The focus is on the imperfect versus the passe compose and some key phrases, vocab like 'i was in the middle of' and 'i was about to'. Although most of this was review for me, I still feel it is a valuable learning tool because you are learning to verbalize French more easily without hesitation.

Paul Always Deliver

I am hopeful to get up close to other languages because Paul Noble (and his wife) makes learning a new language so tolerable. I know there is the kid's audio book version for learning French, but I also recommend this book for use at home and in schools to help kids who struggle with learning French.

Lack of Challenge

You will probably enjoy this if you like a very structured learning environment with plenty of support. You may find it very slow and constraining if you are a more advanced, more independent learner. I was looking for something that would offer more challenge and help me advance my French further; this is not it.
