Difficult
I'm a true crime buff but this story was difficult to hear. Domestic abuse is a hard topic for me already and then the senseless killing of 2 beautiful innocent children out of rage and revenge. It was hard listening to the multiple instances where the legal system did not work knowing that this is still happening in new millennium. These deaths would have been prevented had the justice system protected the victim and not the perpetrator. He is an awful trying to hide behind mental illness, which is probably one reason that understanding mental illness is still in infant stages because evil people used it as an excuse for their crimes in the past. He knew what he was doing.

Engrossing.. If Disappointingly Over-Scripted
Irene Pence offers an exploration of Domestic Abuser/Infanticide perpetrator John Battaglia in Dallas, Texas. The build-up towards tragedy is handled nicely and in a legitimately captivating manner.
Less fortunately, the encounters and conversations in the book are so heavily dramatized that authenticity is questionable (the author clearly invented dialogue for conversations between perpetrator/victims/investigators, but did Pence make any of this up to strengthen her themes?)
As to presentation: Reader Colleen Marlo exhibits creditable diction/enunciation, a commendable timbre & cadence, and a praiseworthy interested tone. Unfortunately, her voice-acting repertoire is suspect and she delivers over-the-top emotional dramatics. This is an "average" listening experience overall.
Altogether, 'No, Daddy Don't' merits 6 stars out of 10. It was a reasonable free distraction for a couple of quiet afternoons, but not worth a Credit should they ask for one.
