About this listen
There is a chapter of World War II history that remains largely untold: the story of the fourth largest Allied military of the war, and the only nation to have fought in the battles of Leningrad, Arnhem, Tobruk, and Normandy.
This is the story of the Polish forces during the Second World War, the story of millions of young men and women who gave everything for freedom and in the final victory lost all. In a cruel twist of history, the monumental struggles of an entire nation have been largely forgotten, and even intentionally obscured.
No Greater Ally redresses the balance, giving a comprehensive overview of Poland's participation in World War II. Following their valiant but doomed defense of Poland in 1939, members of the Polish armed forces fought with the Allies wherever and however they could. This title provides a detailed analysis of the devastation the war brought to Poland, and the final betrayal when, having fought for freedom for six long years, Poland was handed to the Soviet Union.

profound
Has some slow points but overall provides a lot of detail (if you are into that) and is a great story filled with information you wouldn't know by the standard history texts. The narrarator was good.

Must read if you want the truth.
This is finally a history I’ve learned from my parents and grandparents. Still, I am amazed (although I shouldn’t) how fragile the true history is and how it depends on political agenda of countries who are ashamed of their action in the past and how they are still twisting the truth. Unfortunately, I am coming to realization that power, economics and political agendas will always control how history is told until our (humanity) demise. This book gives me some hope , however. We need more books like this to educate masses. This is a must read for anyone who wants to say a sentence or two about WWII or current European affairs, otherwise please stay quiet. I agree with other reviewer on narrator lacking ability to pronounce Polish names. However, given this book is probably not written for Polish audience, this shortcoming is not important for me.

Excellent writing and narration
A gut wrenching account of the hardships of the Polish people during WW2, this book has given me a whole new respect for my grandparents.
