Publisher's Summary
When a serial killer with a point to make begins to kill again, why does he focus his attention on Meredith?
Nigel Foxton was jailed for the murder of three women. Not only was the evidence damning, but during the trial, he changed his plea to guilty. Case closed...or was it?
It’s almost 20 years later, and Meredith is being taunted with more victims murdered in the same way. Foxton claims he is innocent and wants to appeal, and Meredith has to prove they jailed the right man.
Was Foxton innocent, or had there always been two killers? Was the original case closed too soon?
When the killer fixes his sights on Linda Callow, Hodge’s friend and colleague, the stakes are raised.
Not If You Paid Me is the ninth book in the Meredith & Hodge series. If you like great storytelling, surprising plot twists, and compelling characters, then you’re ready to meet Meredith and Hodge, your new favorite detective duo.

Suspenseful
M.K. Turner does it again. A serial killer in prison demands an appeal saying he lied about his confession, an insurance agent who is too happy, and a man who thinks that his next door neighbours wife is poisoning the man. What do these incidents have in common?
Meredith is tasked with looking into a serial killer who claims he was innocent of the charges he confessed to as more killings start taking place. And the killer seems to have his sights set on Meredith. Dubbed the Alphabet Killer, Meredith must find out what the connection is and how the crimes already committed are related before more deaths occur.
Meanwhile, Hodge is hired to look into an insurance agent who seems to be too happy, and another where the man is convinced his neighbour is poisoning her husband.
Love M.K. Turner's work. She keeps you guessing as to why, and who, for most of the novel, and still manages a few twists at the end.
